COMMUNION
‘IN DISPERSIONEM’
O God, come to my aid.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
|
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the
Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

Psalm 67
1. May God be gracious to us and bless us;
may God's face shine upon us.
So shall your rule be known upon the earth,
your saving power among all the nations. Venite, adoremus…
2. ¡Te den, oh Dios, gracias los pueblos,
todos los pueblos te den gracias!
Alégrense y exulten las gentes,
pues tú juzgaz al mundo con justicia. Venite, adoremus…
3. Ti lodino i popoli,
o Dio, ti lodino i popoli tutti.
La terra ha dato il suo frutto:
ci benedica Dio, il nostro Dio. Venite, adoremus…
4. Que les peuples, Dieu, te rendent grâce ;
Venite,
adoremus…
Reading from the Gospel according to Matthew
Y he aquí que yo
(Mateo 28,16-20)
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the
mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they
worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to
them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
(Matthew 28:16-20)
From a letter of Francis Xavier to Ignatius,
as he is about to leave Lisbon for India:
"We ask you, Father, and repeatedly entreat you in our Lord,
because of our intimate friendship in Jesus-Christ, to write to
us and to advise us on how we may better serve God our Lord, as
you, there, will think we should, since we are most anxious that
the will of Christ our Lord be manifested to us by you. In addition
to your usual remembrance, we ask you to be particularly mindful
of us in your prayers, since our long voyage and new contacts
with gentiles together with our own inexperience will require
much more help than usual. (...) There is nothing more to tell
you except that we are about to embark. We close by asking Christ
our Lord for the grace of seeing each other joined together in
the next life; for I do not know if we shall ever see each other
again in this, because of the great distance between Rome and
India and the great harvest to be found there without going to
seek it in another region. Whoever will be the first to go to
the other life and does not there find his brother, whom he loves
in the Lord, must ask Christ our Lord to unite us all there in
his glory".
Cesamos rogando a Cristo nuestro
(Lisboa, 18 marzo 1541)
Prayer in silence
Intercessions
Let us entrust to God’s care the Church’s ministry
of Word and Sacraments and those who serve the Gospel throughout
the world. ‘Spirit of Jesus, abide in us’
- Christ was sent by God to reconcile al things
through the cross. May all who have been signed with the cross
in baptism be ardent witnesses of the Gospel.
‘Spirit of Jesus, abide in us’
- Christ sent the disciples with the message of salvation. May
our sisters and brothers, who are sent on missions, be carriers
of Christ’s compassion.
‘Spirit of Jesus, abide in us’
- Christ has entrusted to Gospel of peace to the Church. May God’s
word, dwelling in our hearts through faith, help build up the
lives of peoples plagued by poverty and violence.
‘Spirit of Jesus, abide in us’
- Christ Jesus you promised life-giving waters to all who come
to you. May those who receive your Word of Life in faith be refreshed.
Relying on your help, we pray:
‘Spirit of Jesus, abide in us’
Jesus taught us to call God our Father,
and so we have the courage to sing:
Pater noster (in latin)
Christ Jesus, you alone have planted the seeds of eternal life
among us. They are ours to water through the spread of your Gospel.
Hear our prayer for blessings on all those who are sent on missions.
By word and action may all missionaries help your gifts of faith
and love flourish throughout the world. We pray in your name.
Amen
May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm;
and may he lead us to eternal life. A M E N
